  1. To add to your list:

Martin Sheridan (b. Bohola Co. Mayo) won Gold at the discuss in 1904 and Gold in both the Discuss and Greek Discuss in 1908. Sheridan also took bronze in the the Long jump in 08′

John Flanagan also won silver in th 56lb throw at the 04′ games, while James Mitchel ( b. Co Tipperary) took the bronze at the same event.

The Hammer at the 1908 games was a clean sweep for Irish born athletes – Flanagan won Gold with Matt McGrath (b. Nenagh Co. Tipperary) taking silver and Con Walsh (b. Carriganima Co. Cork ) taking Bronze representing Canada.

I could be wrong but i’m nearly certain than Carriganimma is also the family home of Ciaran O’Lionaird. (useless fact alert)

Robert “Bobby” Kerr won gold in the 200m and silver in the 100m at the 1908 games for Canada was born in Enniskillen Co. Fermanagh.

Thanks for your great coverage this week from Moscow.

    Regards,
    Caeliv
